TLC Transitional Life Care Program

Introducing a non-profit, volunteer based group

from the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition

offering training and support for the end of life transition.

We will train together in order to:

carry out traditional Vajrayana Buddhist end of life customs and rituals

support those approaching death and who have recently died and their families

gain knowledge about the Buddhist practice of caring for the body at death

develop abilities to assist with planning cremations and memorial services

further our understanding of ‘end of life’ care with continuing education

receive referrals for hospice, bereavement care, and support literature

The program will be set in motion with study of the manual Instructions for the Transitional State ~ A Concise Guide for Families and Friends of Vajrayana Buddhists written by Julie Rogers and compiled with the guidance of Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche, a Buddhist master. Experts and Buddhist teachers will be invited to provide educational guidance. Workshops will offer instruction in topics such as creating Wills and tsa-tsa making. A community of support will form to assist with the end-of-life transition. People of all faiths are welcome.
